SOMEONE NAMED THEIR KID IRONMAIK. I REPEAT: IRONMAIK. IRONMAIK.

I'm 98 percent sure this must be a joke, the other 2 percent are laughing facepalming crying in a corner.

So, one of the cool things about working online and doing design stuff is that you get to surf on a lot of funny designing sites with great pictures. Here are a few of the things I stumbled upon, plus some other stuff that is ~relevant~ to me.

Paintings of Russian Generals with celebrety faces.
My favourites are Sir Ian McKellen and - YIS - Robert Downey Jr.

Some very awesome Avengers illustrations.

Minimalist superhero posters.

The Many Faces Of
This is a site that composes blog entries about actors in some of their roles under a certain topic. Like, Alan Rickman playing villains. It's really great and funny and there are even awesome statistics and graphics to support their theories. XD Be sure to check out Rickman and DiCaprio, but beware spoilers if you haven't seen their movies yet.

Yeah, I know I'm pretty much out of the footie fandom, but things like that still keep my attention and despite gmx being a horrible site, this is actually a decent article. Nothing quite new, but readable.

And last but not least: I wrote the first ~350 words of my fic for the Deutsch Big Bang. \o/ Haha, I know, it's not a lot, but considering the fact that I've been dancing around this for almost 2 months, this is huge progress. One of the reasons why I finally started writing might have been this tumblr post WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH THE START AND THE CLIMAX OF MY STORY. Asdfjlsjdlfkd. BRB, watching those gifs forever.

Uhm, yeah. Two more Mo/Dustfinger drabbles, because they jump out of the pages at me and beg me to write about them. I mean, it's not like I don't have other stuff to write (that Thor/Star Treck crossover - yes, it's still alive - and another Ultraverse part), but they are so deliciously angst-ridden, I just can't resist, okay? XD

Let's just say: my icon is rather appropriate. :D

Football? There is no football. I don't know what you are talking about.
ayascythe: Pink Reaper (KSC)
I haven't talked about footie in this journal for quite a while and for good reasons - there was nothing to tell. My team sucks and in that it is pretty stable and constant, so too much whining or ranting is a waste of energy. But today was such a remarkable loss that I need to type down a few moments, simply because they were so incredibly terrible omg my poor babies amusing.

KSC & Hertha fans - the greatest romance that was never told )

I swear, it would be hilarious, if it weren't so damn fucking bitter at the same time. And it started out as such a fun game - Hertha! A pretty choreography by the supporters! A 1-0 lead in the first half! ... And then it went all downhill.

Somehow, I find this to be incredibly adorable:

Ein Ingolstädter für die Philippinen - »Ich dachte an einen Irrtum« (An Ingoldstädter plays for the Philippines - "I thought it was a mistake")

Seems to be a nice guy. Now I want to see the Philippine national team play, but according to Wikipedia they're too crappy to reach more than the first rounds, lol. (I also feel a little stupid for never looking them up on the internet before.) Anyone knows when the next Asian tournament might be? XD

So I was watching the match via livestream yesterday, right? Well, by the end of the match pretty much everyone of the supposed football haters were sitting around me and kept giving me their two cents about the match. Suddenly, everyone was highly informed about the Mannschaft. Lol. "BAH, stupid football" my ass. (And then we got nearly blown away and drowned by a thunderstorm.)
ANYWAY, I'm so glad we at least made third place (again). Thank you guys, you were fantastic.

Dear Football, why do you always have to break my heart as soon as I dare to fall for a team? Yes, Spain was better. But if Germany had played like they've been playing for the rest of the entire WC ... well, I dunno. *sighs* Still, thank you guys, you have been wonderful.

I don't care who wins the Cup, it's all the same to me, BUT with Germany in the mini-finale, I have another problem coming up: I'll be grilling that night with friends and they all hate or at least dislike football. Ergo: I probably won't be able to see the match. D: What should I do?
  • Pretend I'm sick (which no one will believe me, because they know me) and watch the match at home.
  • Beg, beg, BEG that they turn on the TV so I can snuck in every once in a while to look what's happening (also while hoping the parents won't claim the TV for themselves).
  • Go home earlier to watch at least the second half.
  • Ask someone to give me a newsfeed via cell phone.
  • Be a big girl and not watch it.

That's it.

Third of four exams over and done. I'll have a little breather of one and a half week until the last one, with Japanese somewhere inbetween (but I'm not counting that one). I'm officially braindead for the rest of the week. That's the perfect state to get drunk and let off steam while watching football tonight, y/y? *is already killing the rest of her brain with listening to High School Musical*

Treffen sich ein Franzose , ein Italiener, ein Engländer und ein Argentinier am Flughafen.
Sagt der Engländer: "Lasst uns noch auf den Spanier warten!“

A Frenchman, an Italian, an Englishman and an Argentinean meet up at the airport.
Says the Englishman: "let's wait for the Spaniard, too!"

YES PLEASE. Me and my stomach have been a mess since this morning. The suspense is killing me. For the love of everything holy and shiny, let Paul be wrong. *crosses fingers and runs off*

The knots in my brain have knots themselves. I cannot think anymore, but I should still do at least a little bit of learning today. Someone kick me in the arse, pls? And, completely unrelated, I have a crazy urge to slash Lukas Podolski lately. Yeah, I don't even know. For some reason, I've grown incredibly fond of him during this WC. I think it's the puppy look. It makes me want to make him angst like there's no tomorrow.

We need to talk about Kevin by Lionel Shriver

I can't believe I freak out over a psychic sea-creature, but I was already nervous before and now I'm anxious.

Might also have to do with the stupid exam in a few hours (Broadcasting) THAT MAKES ME FREAK THE FUCK OUT because it's so unpredictable and I feel like I don't know enough or only the parts that won't be questioned.

AAAAAAAAAAARGH. When will this week end already?

  • Holy fucking shit Germany. 4-0? 4-0?!?! Just ... wow. And that was some beautiful football there, my dear Mannschaft. If you hadn't already convinced me, this would've been the match to do so. I'm still so fucking nervous about the Spain match, though, I don't even know.
  • This post on [livejournal.com profile] ontd_football is full of awesome sports/football commercials, including one taking place in the Star Wars Cantina and the infamous Nutella spots. Lol.
  • Tomorrow is my first exam. My head is aching leik whoa and throbs everytime I sneeze. It's still pollen time >>> I sneeze a lot. Also, it's that time of the month again. In conclusion: *whiiiiines*

(I guess a summary won't be necessary. ;))

This will be the umpteenth time I read this book, but the first time in English. Don't ask me how or why, but CoS is the only HP book I never had the opportunity to read in English up until now, despite it being my favourite volume. I bought it several months ago with this very shiny, very pretty "adult" cover.

Damn, this is why I hate penalty shoot-outs. :((( And I feel so sorry for Komano. Wouldn't want to be in his skin tonight.

And somewhat related: my Japanese exam should be interesting. Interesting as: in ridiculously fail-y and bad. We had a test exam today and everyone knew almost nothing. XD Oh well, after the first three horror exams are over, I'll have some time to look over the grammar. Broadcasting Technics, however, is driving me nuts and anxious. The scripts and materials are a mess and I don't even know what to expect ... Argh.

Homophobia in RPG? )

Playing Fallout 3 lately and it is somewhat really addictive. I could play this all day, except that I'm already becoming nervous because of my upcoming exams which I have to learn a crapload of stuff for. So ...

I'm going on my usual learning hiatus until the middle/end of July. Prepare for even more random and panick-stricken postings, because my procrastination bar will rise into infinite heights in the next few weeks. That being said: off for some more uni work and then watch Germany play tonight. (The World Cup is being lots of fun so far, surprisingly. Most of all, it's just nice to see good football again.)

ETA: YAY for Ghana winning!!! :D
ETA2: Those fucking fire-ants in Fallout are driving me insane. The constant foreboding clicking! The fire spitting! The absolutely disgusting corpses! I hope I'm out of that area asap, these things are making me really sick.

In other news, I saw Iron Man 2 tonight and really liked it. Tony Stark, you cocky magnificent bastard. <3 And I have a weird craving to read a graphic novel/comic lately. I almost ordered one tonight, but then got stuck on the choice of either Watchmen or the Sandman series and hell, anyone who knows me knows I suck at decisions. Sandman sounds like the coolest thing ever, but I don't have the money to buy another 9 books, if I like it. So Watchmen would be reasonable. But ... Sandman. And then I'm stuck in a loop. Suggestions?
