X-Men: First Class
Okay, I'm not very witty, articulate or, like, functioning at the moment, because work sucks the life out of me. But I just need to dump my impressions and utter pure love for the new X-Men movie here. I was expecting something like Thor (nice, entertaining and slightly slashy) and got blown away by the best movie of the series so far. It was entertaining, funny, exciting, awesome and holy fucking shit, that was slashy.
McAvoy and Fassbender were already brilliant on their own, but together they had this huge, almost unbearable tension and chemistry that just slapped you in the face. I mean. That Strip Club Scene. On the bed/couch/whatever-thingie. Guys, I NEARLY DIED, RIGHT THERE. (And then the Wolverine cameo which was just hilarious - "Go fuck yourself" XDDD). The chess playing. The long looks and the gestures and the way they just stood next to each other. The Mom-and-Dad-vibe they gave off whenever they were taking charge of their group of kids. Perfection. And then Magneto's last sentence at which my friend and I just burst out laughing because it was so ambigious: "He left a hole in my life that needs to be filled." Ah? I see. *coughs*
Besides that - I am not the only one who saw the chemistry and UST between Darwin and Havoc, right? Right?
Oh, I am so thrilled and overly excited and in love with this movie right now.
Also, dear LJ, be prepared for my new celebrity crush: Michael Fassbender. So charismatic. So handsome. So perfect as Erik. (I loved the vendetta scences in the first 20 minutes of the movie.)
