Avengers genderswap
... which is entirely
3ngel's fault, I might add. *glares* And I seriously put way too much thought into this and I'm stil not happy with some of the choices. Why is it so hard to find a female version of Tony Stark/Robert Downey Jr.??? *pulls at hair*
(Also note that I tried to tinge every character pic with their respective superhero-colour. XD)

Catherine Zeta Jones, because she was the first actress that came to my mind. She's gorgeous and glamorous and can be badass, too (Chicago!).

Alternatively, I was thinking about Helena Bonham Carter, because she could pull off Tony's special brand of crazy very well, I think. But then, she's almost a little too crazy and doesn't quite look the part ... So, I don't know, maybe a mash-up of both?

Candice Accola! At first, it was just a fleeting idea, but then I liked it more and more. I was looking for a natural beauty for Cap, someone who could pull off friendly, stubborn and yet kick-ass, and we've seen Candice give us all of it as Caroline. So yeah, Candice for Cap!

Maggie Gyllenhaal, because I think she'd fit into the role of a calm, slightly geeky scientist with rage problems.

Eliza Dushku, because how could I not? She can pull off snarky asshole perfectly (Faaaaaith <3) and then I saw this pic and it was decided. XD

Bradley Cooper, because I wanted someone undeniably hot like Scarlett, but also with people skills for covert missions and who would look convincing as a secret agent. Plus, he has also curls and looks good in leather (jackets)!

Katie Cassidy, because we've seen in Supernatural that she looks kick-ass while fighting, she doesn't look too delicate and has that huge, beaming gorgeous smile like Thor. I think she could make it work.

Marion Cotillard, because if you've seen her as Mal in Inception, then you know that she can do "twisted and cunning" pretty great. And she just looks ... different, in a very good, very special way.

Eliza Dushku, jaaaaaaaaaa, so perfekt. :D Auf die Wahl bin ich echt stolz, die passt am besten von allen. *find*
Ich versteh ja nicht immer den Reiz von Genderswap, aber das hier hat echt Spaß gemacht. <3

And while we're at blaming other people for stuff, I've been listening to Matchbox 20 the whole day and I'll just pin the blame on you because of that fanvid you posted (even thought I was mostly listening to another song, but Downfall was a close second). Seriously, blaming you for stuff might just be my new hobby. You don't happen to have some nice Avengers fic for a nightcap? No, wait, just before I thought that I'd been reading too much Tony/Steve anyway.

Haha, good to know I'm not the only one currently listening to Matchbox 20 all day. *grins* Getting blamed for stuff like this might just be my new favourite hobby. Ask Lou, it's AWESOME. :D
As for the fic ... how about some nice Gen fic in which the Avengers are portrayed as a wonderful dysfunctional family (http://www.anonym.to/?http://archiveofourown.org/works/305745)? (It's not even Tony/Steve, so there. :P)
Alternatively, here's something about Tony and his robots, plus some mention of Tony/Steve (http://www.anonym.to/?http://archiveofourown.org/works/263906?view_adult=true).
ETA: PS: If you're not nitpicky about Norse mythology, you should totally watch Thor. It's a fun film and great characters!

We should totally form a club. (Do you know So Sad So Lonely? Seriously, Rob Thomas. That voice needs to be forbidden and also, how does one combine upbeat melodies with such tragic lyrics so wonderfully? Takes me all the way back to when I fell in love with Disease. Ahhh.)
Yaaaay, that totally solves my dilemma, because seriously, any more of those two and my brain would have gone asplode.
Heh, I know nothing about Norse mythology - which I nearly take pride in, because there's a few too many students around my institute who are a bit too much into that stuff. And now I learned that it's a feminist movie, apparently? And also, Kenneth Branagh WTF I'll just never get over this. So, err, maybe I'll take a peek when I have an evening to waste...
Edit: Also, daft question, but where is everyone getting all the Hawkeye characterisation? Was he in one of the movies already, or is that from the comics? Because what I got from the trailers was mostly "that guy with bow and arrows who doesn't say anything".
no subject
We really don't know that much about Hawkeye, but he appeared in THOR for one scene, so... why didn't you watch it?! You totally have to! <3

Clint has a 2-minute appearance in Thor, so I'm assuming his characterisation is from the comics. Considering he also gets slashed a lot with Coulson, that has to be from the comics, too - or those 2 minutes of them interacting? XD (Same thing here with Natasha; I mean, she has quite some screentime in Iron Man 2, but it's not like we ever get to know anything relevant about her ...)
And that's just something I find so fascinating about this fandom, how both canons just intertwine and people just work with the little they've got and fill the holes with things from the comics.
no subject
Yeah, ok... I guess there's a lot from the comics, because so many different writers use the same backgrounds for stuff we don't see in the movies, it can't all be headcanon.

(And me likes that song!)

And I keep hearing Badass Chick's name as "Sith", which is So Wrong.
no subject
Note to self: it's not called BoFrost. *sigh* I'm not gonna take this seriously, am I?
no subject
Ok, Volstagg was definitely based on Brian Blessed.
God, Katie Cassidy would be perfect in this.
I kind of want to make a "
LukeLoki, I am (not) your father" joke here.no subject
Ok, that Sith-chick is seriously awesome. (Wow, now I remember Sith chicks being one of the first fandom sites I ever discovered. God, was I naive back then. Err, anyway...)

So, in this case, Redemtion equals Rebirth? Huh. And sorry, you can't tell me that they didn't steal bits off a Sailor Moon transformation sequence.
This kind of makes me want to reread "The Long, Dark Teatime of the Soul", just to compare Thor charactisations. (Ok, and for that Act of God quip.)

Ice never melts in movies, does it? It just cracks. More dramatic this way, I suppose.
Oh, and mom's badass, too? Nice.
Geez, Loki, your childhood sure gave you some issues, but make up your mind about who's side your on! You're not making any sense, sweetheart. And if you're trying to pull a Chessmaster/Magnificient Bastard kinda thing here, it's not really working. *iz confused*

Actually, where were the rest of that heavenly Scooby Gang while the boys were playing brotherly rivalry? It can't take four warriors a whole battle to get one guy to whatever metaphysical hospital construct they have there...

Skipping through the credits for the stinger...
Oooh, nice! And now I'm off to bed, gotta get up early tomorrow and I'm totes putting that badge into my profile when I get back from our mini-field-trip on Wednesday.

But he already is! Plus, he's totally their Supernanny. (Which reminds me of this lovely fic about him being awesome and the Avengers taking care of him in their own special way (http://www.anonym.to/?http://archiveofourown.org/works/289452).)
And Loki has all the FEELINGS. It's his curse.
PS: Concerning your earlier comments ... my favourite description of Thor is still that of him being an overly excited and eager Labrador puppy that doesn't quite know how to behave yet.
Also: forget the GoT comparisons - I HAVE THE PERFECT MOVIE COMPARISON FOR THEM HERE (http://ayascythe.livejournal.com/268508.html#cutid1).

And now I'll just sit back and read your liveblogging and then comment on it when the movie is over. ;)
