You mean to say that you're a daughter of Eve? - Well, my mum's name is Helen.
I'm craving for Detective Conan fic and LJ is not being helpful (or I'm just looking in the wrong places?). So I'm digging my way through all the archives I know, including Animexx and Fanfiktion.de. Yes, I'm that desperate. I'd be happy with some half-assed anything but the summaries alone make my eyes bleed. Sorry kids, but I can't bring myself to read that. (It's a little mean, because I used to be like that, cracky summaries, awful plot ideas and all. Anime fandom kind of does that to you, especially in your teens.) Also, the English name-changing makes me cringe. (Jimmy Kudo?! Rachel Moore?!)

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe tells the story of four ordinary children: Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie. They discover a wardrobe in Professor Digory Kirke's house that leads to the magical land of Narnia. The Pevensie children help Aslan, a talking lion, save Narnia from the evil White Witch, who has reigned over the kingdom of Narnia for a century of perpetual winter. The children become kings and queens of this new-found land and leave a legacy to be rediscovered in later books.
Mostly because I first fell in love with the movies (Prince Caspian first, afterwards LWW) and then read the books, but also because I think they are far superior. I found the books enchanting and lovely and fantastic in some parts, but other parts were a little dry to read and also problematic. Don't even get me started on the religion. I have nothing against stories that have strong and obvious allusions to religion. They can be great and interesting as long as they stay allusions/analogies and not turn into blunt pieces of advertising ("Look for me in your world, I just have another name there!" - that line still makes me rrrrage). It's like breaking the fourth wall and I don't like it.
The movies have their flaws as well, but the characters are more fleshed-out and the religion theme is very toned down or almost non-existent (Aslan may be a god, but not the God). And when Lucy steps into the wardrobe and finds the clearing with the lantern post? The most magical and beautiful scene I have seen in years.
Also, Skandar Keynes is a kickass Edmund. <3

Ich liebe die Filme einfach... mehr als die Bücher... ^~^

Ich auch! Die sind einfach schöner anzusehen und auch etwas komplexer.
