Sep. 3rd, 2012 11:06 pmI want to work at Jurisfiction. Or, if that's not possible, at least for the LiteraTecs. No, seriously, I mean it. It's like, everything I ever wanted to do. In a job, ever. In my life, ever. I want it so badly it burns, because this is a job I could actually see myself doing and loving. It would be my dream job, hands down. Hilariously, it's also a fictional job. I hate my life.
Relevant stuff. Totally.

Also, can we please agree on the fact that Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is a movie that needs to be made before I get old and die of age?
Also: I still need a beta for my latest fic. It's not much, I swear, I just need someone checking on grammar and English expressions I might have messed up (if you want to do more than that, you're welcome to). Please, anyone?

Book reviews
Feb. 18th, 2012 08:18 pmExtrem Laut Und Unglaublich Nah/Extremely loud and incredibly close by Jonathan Safran Foer
I still don't know what to say or do about this book. *is confused*
Iron Man Noir by Scott Snyder
Heh, my crush on Marvel fandom continues and I actually start buying comics. Oh dear. (Still need to get my hands on Civil War, though.)
Evil? by Timothy Carter
Short and entertaining!
Emil und die Detektive / Emil und die drei Zwillinge by Erich Kästner
<3
Zero at the Bone (Zero at the Bone, #1) by Jane Seville
I totally read this because the author is the same as the one who wrote the famous Brokeback Mountain fic Human Interest, but Zero at the Bone was a bit of a let-down. Huh.
Zwei an einem Tag/One Day by David Nicholls
I hate romance novels with a passion but this one was actually good, maybe because it didn't feel like romance at all.

Nov. 5th, 2011 05:36 pmDie geheime Bibliothek des Thaddäus Tillmann Trutz by Ralf Isau
"Official fanfic" for the Neverending Story.
House of M by Brian Michael Bendis, Olivier Coipel
So yeah, I bought an X-Men comic, and I liked it.
Garou: Ein Schaf-Thriller by Leonie Swann
Wheeeee. <3
Nero Corleone by Elke Heidenreich
Didn't like that one very much, but then I'm not much of a cat person either.
Flavia de Luce - Mord ist kein Kinderspiel/The Weed that strings the Hangman's Bag by Alan Bradley

Lost in a Good Book (Thursday Next, #2) by Jasper Fforde
Such a fun read.

Fuck yeah, internet!
Oct. 10th, 2011 10:23 pmAfter the technician who was supposed to fix our internet on Saturday simply didn't show up, he showed up this evening and now I'm blissfully catching up with all internet related stuff. *relieved sigh*
Here, have the first bunch of things I've been wanting to post for over a week now (and prepare for more posts):
LATEST BOOK REVIEWS
Tintentod/Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke (as if I even need to say more about how much I loved this one XD)
Reckless by Cornelia Funke
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde (Thanks again to
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
Stadt der Diebe/City of Thieves by David Benioff (consider this a definite recommendation from me, because I really enjoyed this book and found it wonderful - even with a bit of slashy subtext, if one wants to see it ;))
Secret Wars by Jim Shooter (the review pretty much says it all *snerk* though you really have to consider the comic's age, too)
PS: I'm crushing badly on Tony Stark, Iron Man and all things Avengers lately. Be prepared for recs and gushing.
Me = back home.
Aug. 31st, 2011 08:58 pmSo I'm back home. The trip was nice, but we didn't get to do half the things I hoped we could do (visiting Hamburg, seeing some people, the Lion King musical ...). We did other stuff, though, and I might make a little entry and post a few pictures later, if I get around to it. Apart from that, I stuffed myself with Franzbrötchen and - oh, right. I've been reading Inkdeath/Tintentod.
( And here's where I get crazy and spoiler-ish. )

Stuff and hiatus
Aug. 26th, 2011 10:38 amStuff:
- In case you're interested - I has new Ultraverse fic. :)
- I finally FINALLY got Inkdeath from our local library after - I kid you not - pining for the book for about two or three weeks, because someone else still had it. I was moping and whining and annoying my bf about it all the fucking time. It's almost amusing, because I haven't been that eager to read a book like that since - oh well, Harry Potter? Maybe not quite as eager, but it comes close. ;)
Hiatus:
I'll be on vacation for a couple of days. Keep me informed in case anything interesting happens, yes? :)

So DDos attacks? Daaaaamn. You only realise how addicted and dependent you are on LJ, when you don't have access to it anymore. *sighs* Especially if you want to dabble in a new fandom and are all "but I want want want fic/icons/stuff!". Because LJ is seemingly the only place in the internet where you can get anything fandom.
Speaking of fandom: Inkheart! Farid = completely head over heels in love with Dustfinger, y/y? :D I just read that scene where Farid arrives at Inkworld and meets Dustfinger again and it's all: blushing! Who's that stupid woman? I don't want to share Dustfinger! More blushing! Even more fawning! And I just kept grinning and grinning while reading. XD Funnily enough, I am slightly obsessing over Mo/Dustfinger instead, although Farid/Dustfinger are so terriblycanon obvious. Maybe just because of that. Or maybe because they are so deliciously complicated and multi-layered and angsty. :D

Book reviews
Jul. 21st, 2011 10:28 pmSince I'm writing reviews for every book I read over at Goodreads, I figured I could at least link them here from time to time.^^ (And if you have a Goodreads account, feel free to add me!)
Tintenherz/Inkheart, Cornelia Funke
Pastworld, Ian Beck
The Ladies of Grace Adieu, Susanna Clarke

I've seen the movie today and it made me happy in my heart. I probably repeat myself, but I lovelovelove stories about books and their power. I mean, it wasn't an exeptionally great movie, but it was lovely. And, as usual, Paul Bettany managed to steal everyone's show and also my heart. I probably loved the movie just for him, because oh. Dustfinger. *swoons*
Has anyone read the books? Are they good? Better? Worse?

Fandom babbling
Mar. 20th, 2011 03:49 pmThe Eagle of the Ninth eats my brain, nothing new here. And I need some RPS fic about Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell BECAUSE THEY ARE BEGGING FOR IT:
Jamie and Channing playing celebrity chicken
Who was the last person to see you naked? - Jamie. - Be honest. - Ok, my wife.
Jamie and Channing on the red carpet
The romance on the screen, was that just for the cameras? - J: Oh, no, we're much further, right back to the hotel, to the suite ...
C: That's my leading lady right there, Jamie. Basically I gotta cuddle him and love him.
(Thanks to
3ngel for linking me to those vids!)
Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I can't help seeing ships in every Sutcliff book I've read so far. First Marcus and Esca, then Flavius and Justin. I'm currently reading the Lantern Bearers and all I could think was "Ah, so it's incest this time." *facepalms* (Although my slash-dar goes off at Aquila/Ambrosius, but I'll have to read more to be sure of that.) In case anyone is wondering: no, the books are really good and worth reading even without shipping, fandom has just ruined me forever.
On the off chance someone's interested: I wrote stuff. Ultraverse part 6 and drabbles (including The Eagle of the Ninth, The Silver Branch, Football RPS, Tatum/Bell RPS and Glee). It's not beta-ed and raw and short (I seem to have lost the will and/or ability to write more than 2 pages for a fic), but it's writing and I'm glad I still managed to put something together.

Mar. 12th, 2011 05:38 pm( Glee 2x15 (late reaction is late) )
Besides that, is anyone reading the other books of the Eagle of the Ninth series? I'm currently in the middle of the Silver Branch and it's really good. I like Justin and Flavius, one the sensitive surgeon and the other the Centurion in shining armour. Very adorable. Although I can't help thinking "Kinky!" whenever Cullen is mentioned ...
ETA: Absolutely adorable and squee-worthy fanvid about Esca/Marcus (contains spoilers for the movie).
