I've seen the movie today and it made me happy in my heart. I probably repeat myself, but I lovelovelove stories about books and their power. I mean, it wasn't an exeptionally great movie, but it was lovely. And, as usual, Paul Bettany managed to steal everyone's show and also my heart. I probably loved the movie just for him, because oh. Dustfinger. *swoons*

Has anyone read the books? Are they good? Better? Worse?

Oh mein Gott, du kanntest den Film noch nicht? O__O Aber gut, dass du ihn jetzt gesehen hast xD Paul Bettany als Staubfinger war soo gut, dass ich ihn mir beim lesen auch immer sehr gut so vorstellen konnte.
Also das erste Buch hat die Handlung zieeemlich in die Länge gezogen wie ich finde und das Ende ist auch ein Bisschen anders, weil der Film denk ich mal auch nur auf einen einzigen ausgelegt war. Ich fand die Bücher toll, du solltest sie auf jeden Fall lesen! Staubfinger ist einfach so ein toller Antiheld, den muss man lieben, aber auch die anderen Charaktere haben mir sehr gefallen. Für mich sind es so Bücher, die ich immer lese und danach geht es mir besser ^^

Neeeein, ich wollte den immer sehen, hab's aber bis heute nie fertig gebracht. Paul Bettany hat ungefähr nach 2 Minuten mein Herz erobert und nicht mehr losgelassen - Staubfänger war mal wieder eine perfekte Rolle für ihn. *__* Ich liebe Antihelden. ;)

Ich denke, ich werde mir die Bücher auf jeden Fall mal durchlesen (Bücherei ist was schönes :D), allein schon, weil ich mehr von der Welt und Staubfinger will. Hat der Film dann alle drei Bücher abgehandelt oder nur das erste?

Jaah, er war einfach toll. Und ich find so schön, dass Paul Bettanys Frau dann auch Staubfingers Frau gespielt hat in diesen Rückblicken x3 Das passt einfach total.

Die haben nur den ersten Band verfilmt, aber das Ende ist halt anders. Weil im Buch ist es mehr oder weniger ein Cliffhanger, was dann im zweiten erst fortgeführt wird. Ich mag auch einfach diese ganze Beziehungsdynamik in den Büchern und überhaupt ^-^

Ja, das mit seiner Frau ist mir auch aufgefallen und fand ich sehr niedlich. <3 Bin jetzt auch schon sehr gespannt auf die Bücher. Lustigerweise klang das Buch im Buch (also "Tintenherz") auch total spannend, das hätte ich gerne mal gelesen. x3

Aber stimmt, das hab ich auch gedacht nach dem Lesen. Also dass ich das Buch im Buch gern mal lesen würde xD

Und mein Kino-Marathon ist endlich durch! *War vorhin in X-Men* Jetzt hab ich endlich alle Filme gesehen, die ich unbedingt gucken wollte xD

Err, sorry, I mean, I should probably go and watch it. I faintly remember reading the first book but don't really recall much, sadly.

(Also, as for books with characters coming alive, people travelling into books and all that, have you read any of Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next novels? It's slightly weirder than Inkheart but it's got tons of literary allusions and all that and I thought you might like the novels.)

BECAUSE HE ALWAYS DOES, THAT'S WHY. :D No, seriously, I don't even like longer hair but he pulls it off so well and then there's that scene where he's doing firetricks half-naked ... I kind of zoned out just by looking at it.

So, yes, you should watch it! It's not exactly a masterpiece, but it's lovely, if you can look at it with your inner child and BOOKS and MAGIC and well, Paul Bettany.

have you read any of Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next novels?
I haven't heard of them before but the premise sounds great! *puts it immediately on her Amazon wishlist*

God, no, the hairlength is perfect. Makes him look like... Aragorn, only cleaner.
That scene was one of the first things I came across when I searched for the film on youtube. Yeah, that's quite something...

I lovelovelove those books. See, they play in a world where books have roughly the value of pop culture (Richard III as the Rocky Horror Picture Show!), major sports events (brawls breaking out between supporters of certain authors!) and religion (people walking from door to door who'd like to talk to you about Shakespeare!) added together. I could borrow you the first one, if you'd like (the others, too, but I'm just rereading them myself ^^)

Sounds just like the kind of books I love. :D I'd love to try them out and I wouldn't mind just starting with the first one - I have so many other books to read that I'd certainly need some time to finish it. ;)
