ayascythe: Pink Reaper (Changeling ~ Lost)

Relevant stuff. Totally.

ARC-REACTOR OWLS.

Also, can we please agree on the fact that Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is a movie that needs to be made before I get old and die of age?

Also: I still need a beta for my latest fic. It's not much, I swear, I just need someone checking on grammar and English expressions I might have messed up (if you want to do more than that, you're welcome to). Please, anyone?

OMGYES. THIS. Oh man, the gentleman with the thistle-down hair, how Strange helps Wellington with the battles, Childermass and Vinicius, and oh, the scene at the beginning with the Cathedral coming to life... WANT. SEE. And the rest! Lady Poole! The dances at the fairy's castle where Stephen attends, how Lascelles gets turned into the Champion, and just, all the incredible imagery... *whimpers*

BTW, if you still want to, I could do a beta, but really, when I read it and commented on it, I didn't really see any glaring errors etc., only a few things that I might have worded clearer, but to be honest, the fic is perfectly fine.

I keep randomly checking the imdb page just for the faint hope that something might pop up about it. XD I think the story would make for an epic movie and I'd love to re-visit the world of Strange, Uskglass & co. (and frankly, I'm a little too lazy to re-read the 800 pages or so). Imagine the pillar of darkness above Venice! Strange walking through mirrors! Waterloo! The gentleman-ness and Britishness! And especially the fairies and their twisted magical world! Fairies have been shamefully underrepresented in media. *keeps on hoping*

And YES, that would be great. I plan on posting it on AO3 and a little beta-ing would be good, just to be on the safe side. Do you need my e-mail address?

The guy who did 'Pan's Labyrinth' would be a good choice to direct it, methinks. Guillermo del Toro? *can't be arsed to look him up*

The utter Britishness, aaaah. Hey, what do you say - Benedict Cumberbatch as Jonathan Strange? Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngh. *gets all starry-eyed* Or, oh no! Tom Hiddleston! His sharp edges are actually a bit more how I imagine Jonathan Strange to look like, and he's got the air pat down.

I'll work on it tonight, and - yeah, mail address would be good! Just say 'hi!' to neenski ät gmx dot de so that I know where to send it afterwards. :-)

Yes, that's his name and he'd be perfect. He also directed Hell Boy 2 which has a similarly eery and magical feel to it, in a very fairy way.

I actually imagined him a little bit like Paul Bettany, but I guess he'd be a little too old to play Strange by now. But Hiddleston - YES, absolutely, I could see him doing the part. :D

E-Mail is on the way. :)

Ah, yes, I remember that he was the director of this one, too, but I was rather ambivalent about watching Hell Boy 2, because, no clue about Marvel!verse (or is Hell Boy from DC? No clue, again), so I don't know if it'd be as watchable. Would you recommend it to someone like me, as in, NO clue AT ALL about the background?

Oh, yeah, Paul Bettany would be amazing, too! A bit too ginger, but Paul-Bettany-in-that-movie-with-Heath-Ledger-and-Alan-Tudyk with darker hair, YIS. But yeah, sadly too old-ish. *pouts*

Hiddleston wins. At everything. ♥ I always snicker at his Loki'd antics. Ahahahahaha. (Yes, I'm on tumblr, although lurking.)

And as for Mr Norrell... gah, difficult. Ian Holm (Bilbo from LOTR) wouldn't be a bad choice, but meh. *ponders*

Childermass? Hm. Richard Armitage would be a good choice, methinks.

And as for Arabella Strange, I would say Sally Hawkins would be lovely, I recently saw her in 'Persuasion' and loved her to bits.

Drawlight is difficult. Hm... it has to be someone pretty, not beefy, and being able to act like a twit. Hey, Zac Efron! *LOL*

Lascelles is a bit smarter, more cynical, but built along the same lines in my head. Joe Gordon-Levitt?

Lord Wellington, argh. He's a real person, so... *googles* Here! Hm, a mix of young!Rickman and young!Rupert Everett. Damn, the latter would've been perfect if not for the botched face. If he had only aged sensibly... *sighs* But the current version could work, too, if you go by this painting of the Duke...

... okay, I'm not del Toro, I should shut up. Sorry for spamming you. *LOL* And Vinicius, Lady Poole, Stephen and the gentleman with the thistle-down hair and many more are still missing... -.-

ETA: Oh, I just remembered the perfect gentleman: Harry Lloyd! (in costume as Viserys Targaryen from Game of Thrones)

Aaaand the beta is done! :-)

I love your casting! And OMG THE VYSERYS ACTOR. I completely forgot about him, but yisssss. He could bring across the lighthearted cruelty and madness perfectly.

Harry Lloyd would truly be perfect. I just fear he might be a tad bit typecasat then... *g*

Argh, and I completely forgot to answer your question about Hell Boy! *headdesks* First things first: Hellboy is DC. ;) And second, I saw this movie without having seen the first one, but I got through it just fine (comic adaptions usually try to keep it simple for newbies). I'm not a big fan of the Hellboy character, but I remember enjoying the movie for its atmosphere, the side characters and the magical elements. Also, it has a badass elven prince as a villain. So I guess it's a nice watch, if you don't expect that much out of it.
