Supernatural 4x16

ayascytheOmgomgomg. I think I am kind of baffled at how good this episode was for a change. Don't get me wrong, I still love SPN, but over the past few eps I got the feeling that the authors kind of lost track of their actual plot. And maybe even of what they wanted SPN to be as a show in general. As in, where is this actually going?
Anywho, this ep? Was so, so good. Honestly.
I have been sceptical about the whole angel-plot ever since it was introduced. I feared they would mess it up and I am picky about the depiction of angels. (This is what you get like when you're overly obsessive about Dogma and Angel Sanctuary. x3) Angels? Yes, but only, if you do it convincingly. But after 4x16 I truly felt that they had drawn a believable image of their angels and - finally! - they actually have their own conflicts with belief and obedience. That's what I want, if I get an angel-plot thrown at.
And Castiel ... oh, don't even get me started. I liked him before, but I think now I have ahuge little crush on him. He's a little bit like a helpless child that's not quite sure what to do at times. And the allusions to Dean/Castiel were just ... afdsdfadflk. I haven't squeed or flailed that much for a while. I think might need to read some fic about them.
As to Alastair ... Am I the only one who thought his new actor was kind of annoying? I mean I like the character, but it's so hard for me to understand him when he's talking. He was constantly mumbling into his beard! *pulls at hair* Well, at least he's dead now, so I won't have to worry about that anymore.
Anna ... is annoying. I hope we won't get to see much more of her. She reminds me too much of a Sue that I could like her.
Sam ... annoys me, too. Kind of. I don't know. He and Dean are drifting apart more and more, partly because Dean is stuck up in his own hellish mess, partly because Sam has to go and play the "I'm the only one who can save everyone". I mean, what? Isn't it ironic, when you consider Dean's so-called fate? So Dean broke the first seal. So it's his destiny to prevent the apocalypse. So what? I don't think he can do it without Sam and I think Sam is a douchbag and I really want them to get to that point again where they need each other. Boys, start working together again, pls.
