you can play a darkspawn in The Darkspawn Chronicles DLC I've heard that, too. You can also play Leliana's background story, but since I never even managed to play Awakening until now ... No darkspawn for me (yet).
Dragon Age 2 makes me really excited in a hesitating kind of way - I just hope they won't make a mess out of it. (And the Flemeth part makes me really curious, too. I'm excited to see more of her!)
