Shiny things that made me squee

This means war/Das gibt Ärger
I wanted to see that movie ever since I saw the trailer, but completely missed it when it was in theatres and then never got around to watch it elsewhere. But now I finally bought the bluray and watched it last Friday night.
I am in love with this movie. Verily. Not only has it Tom Hardy and Chris Pine in it (which means lots of prettiness guaranteed), and Reese Witherspoon (who is also too pretty to handle) - I haven't had that much fun with a movie in a while. The story is nothing new - two best friends falling in love with the same woman - but the execution is marvelous and absolutely hilarious, with some spy and action elements on top, which gives the whole thing a slight "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" flair. What I also really liked was that everyone was pretty much playing everyone here and that Lauren was just a nice girl torn between two guys (there are many ways this could have gone wrong, with her getting the role of a "bitch" or something). Btw, I really liked the alternate showdown scene where all of them get
taken to a warehouse, and then FDR gets "shot", because it highlights their bromance just that bit more and shows us a bit more of them working together. Also, I really like the drama. XD
The best part of it was the bromance, though. GUYS. THOSE TWO ARE TOO GAY TO FUNCTION. IT WAS DELICIOUS. ALSO: THESE TWO ARE GERO (TUCK) AND DARIAN (FDR) IN A MODERN DAY CIA AU. I KID YOU NOT. It was like watching our DSA characters bitching at each other and being best bros on screen. Even J. said so. *happy flailing*
Ultimate Comics: Spider-man
I finally got around to read the first volume of Ultimate Comics: Spider-man and I. Am. In. Love. Miles Morales is the most precious superhero kid ever. I just want to squish him and tell him he's doing great and. SO PRECIOUS, I CANNOT HANDLE IT. I'm also really positively surprised by the drawings, meaning: I like them again.
I never quite understood why I couldn't really get into Ultimate Spiderman (the series before that), why it never felt quite right to me, but I think I know now: it's the drawings. I never thought I would call a drawing style jarring or even aggravating, but Mark Bagley's drawings from Ultimate Spiderman? Felt exactly like that for me. They're so ... harsh and over-stylized and a little too ... IDK, Anime? They get better (Death of Spiderman is a lot better, for a fact), but especially the early drawings just make me feel ... UGH. Either way, I really love the new drawings in Ultimate Comics, and I love Miles and now I really need to get my hands on the next volume.
