Film-ish news
Mar. 28th, 2009 11:00 amI just found out that Narnia is indeed going to have a third movie. Century Fox jumped in to co-finance the production. (>>source) Now this has two aspects for me:
+ ADSFDKFL. There's going to be a third movie! With Eustace. And more Edmund, more Lucy, more Caspian. - And did I mention Edmund? Plus, I'm pretty curious how this is going to be treated since the Voyage of the Dawn Treader has no war elements at all, unlike the first two movies. It's all about the journey to the end of the world and the different islands they visit, so this could become quite magical and fascinating, if they do it right. It is said that the Voyage should be more like LWW. Whereas Caspian was much better, this doesn't neccessarily mean it has to be a stepback, since the first movie had its charm as well.
- Another studio standing behind the movie(s?) kind of worries me. Some people are sceptic of Fox and fear they're going to ruin it. You see, I wouldn't mind a more family-friendly movie, especially since the Voyage is exactly the material for it, I just want it to be done right. And ... ah, I don't know. I just don't want any crap done with the characterisations of the Pevensies or with the world in general. Narnia is a children's book, but it does have its darker aspects and one just can't ignore them. *frets*
Oh, and there are new pictures of the Harry Potter movie posters for HBP. Ron and Snape look great, but I'm not so sure about Draco ... He looks like, 10 years older than he's supposed to look. :/
