For the first time in my life, I've understood why Photoshop always asks me if I want Interlacing when saving pictures as PNG. Consider myself boggled. (Sorry, it's just always kind of wtf when the boring, stupid, shitty stuff you have to learn proves to be somewhat related to reality and useful in daily use.)

Also: DVDSTYLER WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO MUCH UNGGHH. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO PUT UP WITH YOUR SHITTY ANTICS AND I NEED TO BURN THAT FUCKING DVD FOR UNI.

Tag 18 – Das Buch, mit dem schönsten Cover, das du besitzt / The book with the prettiest cover you own

Changeling: The Lost - A Storytelling Game of Beautiful Madness

Taken from your home, transformed by the power of Faerie, kept as the Others' slave or pet - but you never forgot where you came from. Now you have found your way back through the Thorns, to a home that is no longer yours. You are Lost. Find yourself.

Ok, this is not a novel but an RPG rulebook, but it's easily the prettiest, shiniest thing with letters and pages I have ever held in my hands. The cover alone is beautiful, the font is also actually shiny and the book feels so soft to the touch. I borrowed it, because I'm GM-ing a mini-campaign for Changeling. Incidentally, this rulebook happened to be my main inspiration for The Spring Court.

It's not mine, however, so here's another one for you that I actually own:

Wächter der Nacht/Nightwatch by Sergej Lukianenko

This epic saga chronicles the eternal war of the "Others," an ancient race of humans with supernatural powers who must swear allegiance to either the Dark or the Light. The agents of Light - the Night Watch - oversee nocturnal activity, while the agents of Dark keep watch over the day.

The book was so-so (also see my review here), but hey, it's World of Darkness the cover is rather pretty and shiny. I like the picture of that raven.

Ok, I hope I got this right: interlacing is a way of saving raster graphics and enables your computer of loading a preview picture very quickly. It only shows every eighth line and then gradually loads the rest of the picture (http://www.anonym.to/?http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/27/Adam7_passes.gif). PNG has this as an optional feature in its compression procedure, hence the question by Photoshop whether you want it or not.
