I ... have rarely seen a movie that was as emotionally draining as this one. It's not that I cried overly much (I did cry, at the end - I mean, Dobby! C'mon!). It's just that ... it was so good, but good in a very hurtful way. It's very hard to describe, this mixture of delicious angst, melancholia, utter love for this entire magical world, seeing very old, very good friends again and, at the same time, starting to say goodbye to them (although this will not be the end, not really, not ever). I probably sound all kinds of crazy, but that just shows how much this fandom and these books mean to me.
Things that I loved:
Everything was really close to the book - at least, as far as I could tell from my very blurred memories from that one-time-reading - and the pacing was, for once, really good. No awkward dialogue for plump information dumping, no weirdly cut scences. Everything developped a lot more natural.
The Wizarding War scenario is about my favourite trope of the HP universe and they did it so well. There were buckets full of angst and darkness and it was perfection. Hermione erasing her parents' memories! (Ouch.) Ron's radio was really, really creepy in a good way. The endless row of names of people that went missing gave me shivers. And despite all the angst, they managed to bring in the usual Harry Potter-like, charming humour that I love so much. Luna was lovely and the twins. Oh, the twins. I can't even think of part 2.
Angst and war set aside, however, this movie really is - as
louphoenix already said - a movie about the OT3 and actually should be called "Harry Potter and His Totally Awesome Best Friends For Live aka The Golden Trio". There were times when I just wanted to hug them all, because I was so in love with their dynamics, their friendship and that bond between them that cannot be broken. Just LOVE. Absolute, utter OT3-love (in a non-sexual way)!
I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something, but this is what comes to my mind at the moment. Just one more thing: the Deathly Hallows tale! OMG. Beautiful animation. Absolutely gorgeous.

Conclusion:
Best Harry Potter movie ever. Now I can't wait to see part 2 - I'll probably cry like a little baby. XD
Also: Dear HP fandom, you have me back.

*nickt einfach nur wie so ein Wackeldackel*
"Harry Potter and His Totally Awesome Best Friends For Live" Das sollte der Titel für alle 7 Bände werden, wäre ein sehr pasender Überbegriff.
