Snow White and the Huntsman

ayascytheor: that movie where me and J. both end up shipping Snow White and the Queen, except he ends up shipping the Huntsman and William as well and I feel like I failed as a slash-fangirl. XD
So, that was a very nice movie. I love dark fairy tales and as they go, SWATH did a good job with that. I mean, there wasn't much depth to it, but I liked the characters, especially the Huntsman and Ravenna. Charlize Theron killed her role and I pitied the other actors just a little bit, because she seriously dominated the entire movie with her performance. She was that fucking good.
Hemsworth was Hemsworth, in all his glory and I had a little trouble separating him from Thor at first. Then it got better, but really, he's just perfect for fantasy and period stuff. He should never stop doing that. XD Kristen Stewart did well, too , and it certainly helped that Snow White didn't have much dialogue to begin with and mostly needed to look terrified or earnest (which is Stewart's default expression).

3ngel's journal, it's the tiny details that make the movie worthwhile, like the hallucinations in the dark forest, the adorable, adorable fairies (FAIRIES *FLAILS*), the queen's Mirror, the magic. This movie aims for style, not for logic. If you can switch off that part of yours that yearns for logic and just enjoy the visuals, you should be fine.
A propos visuals: can we take a moment to discuss how flawlessly beautiful and FUCKING HOT Charlize Theron is? Can we also appreciate the fact that I totally ship Ravenna with Snow White, and I don't even care if it's the Huntsman who kisses her back to life? Because, seriously. The actresses already ship each other.
