Medieval Festival in Weil am Rhein

ayascytheMe and a couple of friends went to a medieval festival in Weil am Rhein yesterday.
Overall: fun, fun, fun and just really... cool.
Great weather. Too hot, actually. All of my friends got sunburned and even I wasn't spared (fyi: I'm skin type 4).
Lots of booths where you could buy cool, but overpriced stuff like dresses or swords and whatnot. Lots of yummy, but overpriced food. Drinking mead (which is okay, but not that yummy as I used to think).
Lots of people wearing pretty medieval dresses and not-so pretty, but still cool medieval clothing. Lots of shirtless (yay!) men wearing men-skirts (yay!) and with long hair (very, very not-yay XP). Furthermore, lots and lots of Swiss among the visitors (Weil is near the Swiss border). And goths. Not to mention: incredibly drunk Swiss goths. *rofl*
Later in the evening, there was big show featuring all the jugglers and artits that were shown during the day. Then there was an amazing fire show, with torches, fire rings, fire spitting/swallowing and fireworks. It literally left me gaping in awe at all the prettiness. <3
Also, we saw Saltatio Mortis live and they absolutely rock. For those of you who don't know: SM (*giggles stupidly*) make medieval (rock-)music with bagpipes and yes, that's a possible mixture and yes, it actually sounds pretty cool! (Nevermind the vid, just listen to the music.)
Especially one of them was really, really cool and, in a way, reminded me a little of Maik Franz. You know, as in "being completely nuts on the stage and egging the crowd on". He was directing the audience with ease and when he only so much as hinted at us to lift our hands into the sky, everybody followed immediately.
Plus, he's got a very, very nice upper body and a slightly devilish smile and a very cocky attitude and he's actually not my type, but yeah, I fangirled him quite a bit yesterday. :P
Oh, and he's probably one of the few men on this planet who can pull off wearing a long skirt and looking rather sexy in it. *purrs*
