Okay, I never would've thought this but...

...What happened in episode 1 of SPN season 2 broke my heart so much that I actually feel reluctant to keep watching it. O_O
It's not so much what happened but the way it happened and especially the aftermaths of it. I'm all for angsting and drama, but this? I think this might actually be a little too much for me.
I don't know why, but I'm really taking this to heart. It pains me because I can't stand to see the boys hurting so much. Especially Dean - and boy, is he hurting because of this. (I just watched ep 4 and was crying by the end - again.)
Overreacting, much? *headdesk*

Another thing I didn't quite expect is this: the whole "Boldthrough" affair has become a quite huge thing. I mean, huge. (It even made it into the German news!)
There finally has been a statement from LJ's side over at
lj_biz. I attempted to follow the comments in there but gave up after the seventh page or so. However, what I could gain from reading through these seven pages was that fandom is a) still pissed like whoa and b) not very satisfied with LJ's answer about their handling with "illegal and harmful content". Which I have to agree on, because what they're saying still sounds way too wishy-washy, imho.
Not to mention that they keep either contradicting themselves or causing even more outrage through their answers in comments, e.g. not acting upon reported pro-anorexia communities but "zomg banninating teh pr0n!" ("It's sad, I know it is. But it's not illegal to aspire to be thin. It's not against the ToS to give people bad advice." - Still one of my favourite quotes there. *snorts*)
This is not like the first Strikethrough. The majority of fandom doesn't feel safe anymore and I think there will be consequences. As to how these consequences will look like, I don't know. Many, many people are talking about packing their bags and leaving LJ for good. There's a lot of talk going on about whether to move onto another site like Greatestjournal or Insanejournal. There are people trying to build up their own, fannish blogging-site to avoid further censorship. And there's even more talk about for which of these options they should decide.
No matter how you look at it: if fandom actually decides to leave, then there will probably a splitting. And this sucks major ass. Yet, I don't know how this could be prevented. The way I see it, LJ keeps and will keep on fucking up, whereas fandom has become incredibly paranoid.
I don't like the idea of leaving LJ. I might only have been here for two years and therefore not as emotionally attached to it as others, but I have met some awesome people here. People that I perhaps never would've met elsewhere. And I'm whiny enough to admit that I hate the thought of getting used to another blogging-site because of both, the looks and the handling. (Especially Insanejournal just kind of repulses me with its looks.) Also, I'm worried that some fandoms - especially the ones including RPS, like Football - won't feel affected by this and just stay here. Ergo, even more splitting.
Meh. All of this just sucks. But no matter how it will end, LJ definitely won't be seeing any money from me in the future.
(Depending on if and how much you've been following the wank of the previous six days, you're probably sick and tired of reading about this. I'm sorry, if that's the case, but I kind of needed to sort out my thoughts on this.)
