  • It's NaNoWriMo! Anyone taking part this year? Or just using it as an opportunity to do some writing? I think I'm going to try and finish at least one story this month. There are a lot of oneshots I've been struggling with this year, but especially one of them I'd like to see posted/finished in the near future.
  • I got myself the Narnia RPG. The layout of the rulebook is very pretty, the system seems easy, but well thought out - could be fun! I like that there are a lot of rather untypical races you can play: not only humans and dwarves, but also half-dwarves, dryads, fauns, centaurs, Marsh-wiggles, talking animals and ... no (!) elves. Hopefully, we'll try this out sometime as soon as I got the drill of all the rules (since I'm the only one who read the Narnia books, I'm already destined to GM). And I'm totally going to play a talking, fencing mouse. (Reepicheep! ♥)

For one week, recommend/share:
Day one: a song
Day two: a picture
Day three: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day four: a site
Day five: a youtube clip
Day six: a quote
Day seven: whatever tickles your fancy

The Max Payne 2 Theme, which is a track that you actually can download legally and for free (at least I did at the time). I haven't played the game, but the theme's a wonderful, wonderful instrumental piece of music. Very melancholic, very dramatic and very inspiring. Especially for every World of Darkness RPG currently existing, it's a perfect BGM.

I'm definitely not taking part in NaNo (even though I could use that sort of pressure for my uni related stuff, we should start an international thesis writing month) but I once stumbled upon someone on lj who took the opportunity to draw a bit more and posted one drawing per day to their journal. It's an intriguing idea...

And I'm totally going to play a talking, fencing mouse.
...
You RPG guys are really, really... weird. (I mean that in a good way, but still... weird.)

international thesis writing month
Well, why not? I mean, I couldn't come up with 10.000 words in a month either, but why not say: I'm going to write my thesis? Or draw more? I think NaNo is a wonderful thing, even if you're not directly taking part.

*laughs* Oh, but it's totally inspired by canon! May I introduce: Reepicheep, the great mouse (http://www.anonym.to/?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWkmBAmTd_s&feature=related) and Knight of Narnia (http://www.anonym.to/?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bhJ0Pk8wYo) and totally one of my favourite characters. And Narnia is a world where certain animals can think and speak, which is why it's part of the RPG as well. ^^

Maybe... It sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? And if other people can write a novel next to working, why can't I write those stupid 30 pages and prepare a presentation at the same time?

*giggles* Okay, that is a truly magnificent mouse!

(Uhm, I'm now finally about to send out the thinkgeek order. But now jinx doesn't want to order anything after all, so the shipping costs would be a bit higher, just about 11€ per person. Would you be okay with that?)

I think it's a great idea and a great opportunity. Maybe you could even use one of these word/page counters? :)

Isn't he? *hearts*

(I'm absolutely okay with that! So feel free to send out the order. ;))
