Can I just put out there how much in a RAGE I am to see how much shit they put Shannon Beiste through?! First she has to fight for that asshole of a boyfriend who cheated on her. THEN HE FUCKING YELLS HER DOWN AND HITS HER. And then she goes: "I don't think anyone else will ever love me" and that just fucking hurts, because it hits somewhere close to home and because no one should ever think that, especially Beiste. (Heh, and here I thought I didn't have any strong feelings about Glee characters anymore
And show, you did a shit job with that storyline just to throw in your random issue of the week.

Date: 2012-05-03 09:54 pm (UTC)I don't know. I just never thought they'd handle it this poorly. *shrugs* Right now, I'm only in it for the music and the rare Jesse appearances.

Date: 2012-05-03 10:04 pm (UTC)All in all I think except of Kurt and Blaine almost all characters got killed with their storylines. Often I think RIB hate them all... :/
Btw, Beiste is one of my favorite characters. I wish she would appear more often...
Me too. Also the show is like a car crash. You can't stop to see it. I tried to stop after one to much joke under the ... eh Gürtellinie but I came back. Mostly because I still think some songs rock (I adore "Shake it out" in this episode!) and I still love Kurt and Puck.

Date: 2012-05-03 11:04 pm (UTC)The thing is, It think if this was a different show, this story could work. It would actually make sense seeing her giving this asshole a second chance, realizing that things haven't changed but still being scared that no-one else will ever love her (and god, did my heart break for her at that moment) and then finally leaving him, from a dramaturgical point of view. But these kinds of storylines need time and at least some attention, and with the kind of attention Glee usually gives her (and their continuity/character development in general), yeah, probably won't happen.

Date: 2012-05-05 11:58 am (UTC)Domestic violence is a serious topic and I would've appreciated the effort had they done it right. But as you said, Beiste will never get the screentime that is necessary to make this believable or realistic, so it becomes this sad excuse of a side-story. And that makes me really angry, because I love Beiste's character and I can't see her that hurt. :(
