Captain America - Winter Soldier

OH MY GOD I SAW IT. AND IT WAS FANTASTIC. SO FUCKING FANTASTIC.
Seriously, it's up to par with The Avengers (though much more serious) and I feel just as floored by this movie as I did back then. Yes, it's THAT GOOD.
I'm just going to randomly throw out thoughts and impressions because I'm way too flashed for coherent thoughts.

• THE FIGHTING SCENES. I could have watched this all day long: Natasha's Ninja style, Steve's kicks, Bucky's raw brutal force and knives. *swoons forever*


• SAM WILSON IS THE MOST PRECIOUS HUMAN BEING OH GOD LET ME LOVE YOU. His introduction was wonderful and I love how he's this absolutely loyal counterpart to Steve. And HIS WINGS OMGOMGOMG *flails and swoons* (also, am I the only one who thought that he probably had a thing going on with his late wingman Riley?)


• NAME DROPPING. Bruce Banner (*squee*) and Stephen Strange (possible future movie?!??!).


• Generally so many hints and things from former movies woven into the movie. Agent Sitwell. The Senator from Iron Man 2 (Tony will be so happy about him getting arrested).


• MARIA AND HOWARD STARK GOT KILLED BY HYDRA. I JUST SAT THERE GAPING. AND IMAGINE THAT IT WAS PROBABLY BUCKY WHO DID THAT. BUCKY PROBABLY KILLED TONY'S PARENTS. I want a bazillion fanfics dealing with this right now: Steve being the one telling Tony that his parents didn't just die in an accident, Tony dealing with the fact that his parents were killed, Bucky dealing with the fact that he killed one of his former friends (generally Bucky dealing with his past and buckets of angst), BUCKY AND TONY CONFRONTATION, all the friction between Bucky and Tony (either in a shippy way or with Steve having to deal with his boyfriend hating his best friend).


• Sharon Carter ... did not impress me. She wasn't bad, either, just a bit meh. Admittedly, she didn't get much time for characterisation or development and I'm kind of biased (still don't like her in the comics), so I'll wait what they'll do with her in the future.


• THE BASTARDS FORGOT ABOUT CLINT. AGAIN.


• WANDA AND PIETRO IN THE AFTERCREDITS SCENE. SO MUCH FLAILING. So excited to see what they're going to do with the co-dependent incestuous twins.


• ARNIM ZOLA'S MIND IS UPLOADED TO A COMPUTER. I love how they're re-inventing old-fashioned character concepts, like Zola and Falcon, to make them work better and look less cheesy in our present-day world. That's how you put comics onto screen. That's how you develop canon. That's how you stay up to date (*ogles at DC*).


• NATASHA. Natasha who wasn't a love-interest and who was equal with Steve and who was plot-essential and who got her own background and who was badass and who got fantastic dialogue and characterisation. MARVEL I LOVE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW OK.


• NATASHA & STEVE FRIENDSHIP FOREVER.


• NICK FURY WAS THE COOLEST. And they actually made him more human and gave him some background. I was really upset at first, because I was thinking: "oh come on, you can't go and kill Nick Fury", but luckily, they didn't (should have known better, really).


• STAN LEE CAMEO.


• MARIA HILL.


• Steve visiting Peggy as an old woman, oh dear, my HEART. HE CALLED HER HIS BEST FRIEND. AND SHE STILL OWES HIM A DANCE.


• RUMLOW. Whom I actually regret a little bit to be a bad guy, because a) he was hot and b) I liked him as part of Cap's team. Afterwards I googled his name because I thought his name sounded familiar and lo and behold: he is Crossbones! That's why they showed him surviving the finale.


• Very important random information (for possible fanfic): Bucky was born in 1917 which makes him one year older than Steve (born 1918), and he 'died' in 1944.


• THE FLASHBACK SCENE TO WHEN STEVE'S MOTHER DIED AND BUCKY TRIES TO COMFORT HIM *CLAWS AT HER FACE* I have no words, just a massive amount of feels.


• BUCKY FUCKING BARNES AKA WINTER SOLDIER. First things first: HE HAD TOO LITTLE SCREENTIME. *cries* There could and should have been more of him, especially some more lines. Even so, Stan did the best with what he was given and he was fan-fucking-tastic. (Note to self: need to get my hands on the original scences so I can hear his real voice.) He managed the balance between blank, brainwashed killer and victim grasping for memories so well ("I know him" *weeps*) and the final fight between him and Steve had me flailing and whimpering. (I flailed and whimpered a lot. Mostly when Stan was on screen. I also squeezed a lot. J's hand had to suffer through the entire movie.) AND THEN HE DRAGGED STEVE OUT OF THE WATER AND HIS AFTER AFTERCREDIT SCENE IN THE MUSEUM OH GOD MY HEART WHY DID THEY STOP THERE I WANT ANOTHER MOVIE NOW.


• WINTER SOLDIER FIGHTING. Did I mention his fighting scences? Because uughghgghhhh, oh dear lord, I could watch that all day. Just the way he fights is ruthless and brutal and raw and shows just how much of a killing machine he is, no matter the losses or costs.


• MASSIVE BIONIC ARM PORN. UGH SO MUCH PORN. PORN. POOOOORN.


• FUCK FUCK FUCK WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH AGENTS OF SHIELD NOW. Shield basically doesn't exist anymore, this will have such a huge impact on the show, fuck, wow, I can't wait to see what they'll do with it.

Yeah Sharon. I really wish they would have give her more. Personally I don't really liked her in the movie but like you said. Almost no screen time for character development.

Also I want the same with Howard, Tony and Bucky. I need fics. <3

I wasn't overly fond of what I saw of her in the comics, but I wanted to give her a chance in the movie. Unfortunately, they didn't really give us much to work with, so I'll withhold my judgement for now and wait until we see more of her.

ALL OF THIS. SAM WILSON IS THE BEST. I WAS SO IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING HE DID AND SAID. And of course he had a thing with wingman Riley. They are called wing-men!!! xD

And oh my God, Bucky broke my heart. Sitting there on the torture device, getting slapped and being broken all around and his whole "Ich kenne ihn", which sounded so utterly childish and lost and heartbreaking and OH MY GOD, PIERCE GET YOUR DIRTY HANDS OFF OF HIM, HE IS MY BAAAAAAABYYYYYYY. DDDDx

I loved Natasha's and Steve's interaction. It was glorious. And the Apple-store-guy was cool too.

AND RUMLOV YOU DIRTY LITTLE FUCKER! I ROOTED FOR YOU! I WANTED YOU TO BE A FANBOY OF CAP/HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM/BECOME SORT OF A FATHERLY FIGURE SLASH LOVER TO HIM. WHY MUST YOU BREAK MY HEART MOVIE!!!!!

Everything was perfect. It was such a thrilling story, the acting was superb, Sam Wilson was the best (ALL THE BRO-PORN PLEASE), the names-dropping everywhere, TONY BEING A TARGET, everything was awesome!!!

The only thing I didn't like/didn't get: they uploaded every Shield-folder ever for everyone to see, right? That means that people like Hawkeye are completely exposed now. Hell, he is probably on vacation somewhere and then the pool boy asks him all about Budapest all of a sudden?? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING STEVE, YOU ARE NOT THAT BLACK AND WHITE USUALLY??? Oh well.

Maria Hill was awesome as well. And Tasha with the Mission-Impossible-mask. EVERYTHING WAS REALLY AWESOME, OKAY!!!

Oh god, that scene when Bucky gets that "shock-therapy" and he gets that thing stuck in his mouth so he won't bite his tounge off and he's just in so much pain omfggggggggg my heart.

I have to admit I started shipping Rumlov with Steve for a second there and was really disappointed when that opportunity got snatched away by plot-development.

The thing with the SHIELD-files is pretty drastic, but I could actually see Steve doing that. He can be very black-and-white (*coughs*civilwar*coughs*) and maybe he didn't think this through to the end. (Probably Marvel didn't think this through to the end, either. I read on Tumblr that this means that there must also be rudimentary plans for Tony's tech on the internet now since Tony designed parts of the Helicarriers.)

Maybe Natasha kept the really juicy stuff out of the webs when she uploaded it (Steve doesn't have to know everything xD) - just to protect people like Tony and Bruce or even just the little SHIELD dudes who have no idea what's actually going on?

And God yes, Rumlov and Steve would have been cute in a Steve-getting-seduced-by-experienced-soldier-and-Natasha-being-all-wary-of-the-guy-way. XDDD WUHUUU.
