TV shows

So ... it's time to buy a new TV show DVD box, because I need something new to watch. I'm thinking about the following shows:

- Dead like me
- Six Feet Under
- The Tudors

Has anyone seen one or more of them? Are they good?

(PS: Listening to ooold cassettes I taped years ago is kind of fun. :D There are songs I had almost forgotten but remember instantly the moment they're on.)

Ich kenne nur Six Feet Under. hab damalas einige Folgen im TV gesehen und fand die da echt auch toll. sehr speziell, aber auch echt gut. ziemlich schräge Charas aber das macht es auch spannend. UND slash is included ;) (naja mir kam der story teil immer etwas zu kurz... aber da kann man wohl nichts machen XD)
Die Folgen kommen jetzt übrigens auch wieder im TV So und Mi 22:30 bei zdf-neo wenn du mal reinschauen magst.

zu den anderen beiden kann ich nicht wirklich was sagen. Dead like me kenn ich gar nicht und The Tudors nur "vom-hören-sagen".

Danke für den Tipp. Six Feet Under hab ich mir jetzt auf jeden Fall mal vorgemerkt; hab das neulich im Müller auch ganz günstig gesehen und werd mir das wahrscheinlich holen! :)

Du hast es zwar nicht auf deiner Liste, aber ich würde dir The Big Bang Theory empfehlen. Der Nerd-Geek-Spaß mit jeder Menge lustiger Anspielungen auf Physiker-Klischees und Geek-Serien. Und sogar, in späteren Folgen, jede Menge Anspielungen auf "supressed homosexual feelings" bei zwei der Protagonisten.:D Oder, falls dir nach älterem, sehr coolem Sitcom-Spaß ist, könntest du mal nach Cybill gucken.
Zu den Serien da oben kann ich leider nichts sagen, hab keine davon gesehen.

Big Bang ist dank dir sehr wohl auf meiner Liste! ;) Die will ich definitv auch noch sehen, aber Sitcoms kaufe ich mir normalerweise nicht auf DVD, eher Serien mit fortlaufendem Plot.
Kennst du eigentlich The IT-Crowd? Ich hab das noch nicht gesehen, wurde mir aber auch als supernerdige gute Sitcom empfohlen. :)

Six Feet Under. So totally. This show is the best I've seen in a fucking long time, and it ends just like it's supposed to, none of this, "oh, the ratings are too low, we'll pull it from air after the 1st/2nd season, fuck you, viewers," shit. (Because, okay, it was fucking amazing from the start.)

I've seen a bit of the other two shows, but really - SFU is jaw-dropping awesome. And the cast is overall brilliant. I could gush on for hours and hours, but really, you don't want to get spoiled, do you? ;-)

Well, if you go for character development and what family actually means, then this is the series for you. Oh, and the cast and the writing is excellent.

Some more gushing from back then when I was a total SFU stan as I discovered the series (around 2005/06):

Damn, why didn't anyone tell me how fucking great this series is? Like, totally. Gah. I've OD'd on it since yesterday evening (until 4 am in the morning) and have just now finished the last ep of the first season. Damn. So many truths and lies and obfuscations and such a fucking honesty in there that it just pains me, and it cheers me up and saddens me and ah, I've not felt like that in a long time watching anything. Ah, perfect.

This series is so fucked up and at the same time, so real. Man, every time you think it couldn't get worse, BANG! there you are. Gargh, I was alternating between going 'OH NO YOU FUCKTARD/BITCH/WHORESON/HOMOPHOBE WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THAT?!?' and 'AW YOU POOR WOOBIE COME LET ME HUG YOU REALLY TIGHT...', both often applying to the same person. It's so alive and so dysfunctional and so messed up that it's actually normal. And there is so much psychobabble in there that you just have to love it for this. And, yes, I'm biased. ;-)

Six Feet Under still owns my soul. Gah. The series is totally the best I ever watched. The people are so achingly human - nothing of that black/white stuff; no, it's all about the shades of grey with splashes of color and hurt and joy and life and death, but well, these are just two sides of a coin, and the faster it spins the faster they blur until they become one, and that's what Six Feet Under is about. Yes.

(after I watched the series finale) It's - even if I sound horribly geek-ish here - been one of the best experiences in my life. A fucking television series, yes, but oh my God. So intricately done. So fucking with my mind in both a terrifying and liberating way at the same time.

Damn, now you're making me want to rewatch the series! *laughs and shakes her head* I so DO NOT have the time for this.

Henry Cavill und Jonathan Rhys Meyers *malt Herzchen*
Ich brauch noch die letzen 2 Staffeln auf DVD aber ich hab sie schon mehrmals verschlungen. *gg*
Ob ich Hursts neue Serie "The Borgiaa" gucke weiß ich aber noch nicht.
